Changing an address takes a few minutes, so you do it as soon as you remember. Then you notice a receipt to file and a message to answer. Each task is small, but the document you opened an hour ago is still blank.
Keep a short collection list for jobs that can wait. Add the action and any deadline, then return to the current work. Deal with the list during a suitable gap or a brief admin session.
Separate quick from urgent
A task's length does not tell you when it needs attention. A short response that unblocks someone may deserve an immediate place. A long-standing cosmetic change probably does not. Use the consequence of waiting to decide.
Review the collection list often enough that it stays dependable. Remove tasks you no longer intend to do and schedule those with approaching deadlines. If it grows beyond a manageable session, group the jobs by tool or location. That lets you open the relevant account once without giving every remembered detail permission to interrupt whatever you are doing.
