The week before time off can fill with attempts to finish everything. Some tasks have genuine deadlines; others merely feel untidy when left open.

List what must happen before you leave and what can resume on your return. For work that continues without you, identify the current state, the next decision and the person who can handle it. Put essential files somewhere the relevant people can access.

Explain the exceptions

If there is a situation that requires contacting you, define it in advance according to your role and agreements. Otherwise a vague invitation to message anytime can follow you through the entire break.

Leave yourself a return note with the first task to review. Then check the handover with the person taking responsibility, especially if they need an answer before you go. A list that has been understood is more useful than a long document nobody knows how to use. You may still leave some work unfinished; the important distinction is whether it has a clear place to resume and someone knows what happens while you are away.
