You keep personal-project notes among work documents because that folder is already open. Later you struggle to find the draft, and work reminders appear whenever you try to spend an evening on your own idea. The storage choice has made the two activities harder to separate.
Create a suitable place for the project using accounts and devices you are allowed to use. Keep the current draft and a short next-action note there. Avoid moving employer information into personal storage.
Make the switch practical
At the end of a work session, close the files you do not need for the personal task. Open its own folder when you begin. You may only have a short window, so reduce the search needed to use it.
If you share a device or workspace, agree on when it is available and how files are protected. Review the arrangement after using it a few times. The separation should make the project easier to enter, without creating more setup work than the project itself requires.
