You subscribe to something for a particular season or event and keep it afterwards. When the next charge arrives, you have not used it for weeks.
List services whose usefulness changes through the year. Check renewal dates and cancellation conditions in the account. Put a review reminder before the relevant deadline, with time to make the change.
Decide from expected use
Look at the period you are about to pay for. Will you use the service enough to choose it again now? If another person relies on it, include them in the decision. Check whether pausing is available and what happens to stored information.
Save confirmation when you change a subscription, then verify the next statement. If you keep it, note why and when you will review again. A seasonal service can be worth paying for deliberately. The useful habit is returning to the decision when the reason for the original purchase no longer applies in the same way.
