A free trial offers time to try a service, but its ending is easy to forget once you have signed up. The first charge may arrive before you have decided whether you want to continue.
Read the trial and renewal terms at registration. Note the price after the trial, the cancellation method and the deadline for avoiding a charge. Set a reminder with enough room to act according to those terms.
Decide what you are testing
Choose a real use for the trial. If it is a writing tool, try it on the kind of document you regularly handle. If you never find a use, that is information for the renewal decision too.
Before the reminder date, check whether the service is worth its recurring cost to you. Cancel through the official process if you choose to stop and save confirmation. Do not rely on deleting an app as proof that a subscription has ended. If someone else shares the service, discuss the decision with them before changing access.
